The Child-Responsible Media Campaign

Mission Statement

The Child-Responsible Media Campaign recognizes the overwhelming statistical evidence that violent media exposure contributes to violence in society. In response to this recognition, we are dedicated to:

• requiring the entertainment industry (including movies, television, music and electronic games) to be both responsible and accountable to the public it is meant to serve, and particularly to the children; and
• providing support for parents and others attempting to limit exposure to violent media in their homes and families.

As such, we actively support laws limiting youth access to violent media, encourage others to do likewise, and support all positive personal and societal efforts to reduce exposure to violent media.
